Supporting our local communities.
Making a positive difference to the people and communities we operate in.
Giving back to the communities we operate in.
We're dedicated to making a positive difference to the people and communities we serve and work in. CitySprint has over 25 sites spread across the UK, and that’s over 25 different communities that we’re a part of. That's why we have a number of initiatives in place - from partnering with charities such as Crisis and Make-A-Wish Foundation, to setting up a colleague volunteer programme, and supporting local causes close to the hearts of our teams, we’re determined to give back wherever we can.
Campaigning for safe roads
On average 5 people die every day on UK roads and 84 people are seriously injured. Since 2017, we’ve been supporting road safety charity, Brake, in their push for safe and healthy roads. As part of our partnership, we commit to educating our colleagues, customers, and the couriers who work with us on the dangers of unsafe road use to minimise casualties and foster a safe environment for everyone to travel.
Helping to make wishes come true
Our colleagues have voted Make-A-Wish to be our 2023 charity partner! Through this partnership, we will partake in fundraising activities and raise awareness for the children's charity who grant life changing wishes to children suffering with critical illnesses.
Fundraising: Tour of Britain
Unfortunately, more than 60,000 children in the UK have been diagnosed with a critical condition. In September 2023, 68 colleagues across CitySprint shared a 1,665-mile cargo bike ride visiting each of our sites across the UK to help support the work carried out by Make-A-Wish Foundation. Together, the riders and supporters were able to raise £50,000+ which will help grant life changing wishes for critically ill children.
Fundraising: London to Brighton Cycle Ride
1 in 7 people face hunger in the UK because they simply don’t have enough money. In September 2022, 13 members of the Senior Leadership Team took on the 55-mile cycle from London to Brighton in support of Trussell Trust. The cycle team managed to raise a whopping £21,905 for the anti-poverty charity, which will go towards supporting those in need and campaigning to end UK hunger.
Raising awareness of poverty
From 2021 to the end of 2022, we partnered with anti-poverty charity, Trussell Trust. Prior to this, our teams across the UK had made generous efforts to support their local food banks during Christmas and Easter periods with notable donations made in Glasgow, Caterham and Plymouth. An annual donation of £20,000 made to the charity helped food banks within the Trussell Trust network continue to provide emergency support to local people in crisis.
Lending a helping hand
We’ve been a corporate partner of Crisis, the homelessness charity, for more than a decade. In this time we’ve donated 100 vans, helping Crisis move vulnerable people in and out of temporary accomodation, as well as transporting supplies and repurposed furniture to be sold in their retail outlets. And it's special to do more where possible. In 2020, we were able to provide an extra three vans and an additional donation of £12,000, which helped to fund a special Crisis Christmas package for 425 people.
Colleague volunteer programme
To celebrate and recognise all the great community work that our people are currently involved in or have ambitions to do, we've setup our very first colleague volunteer programme. This gives people time to help-out with one of our charity partners or a cause that's important to them personally. Through the programme they can donate a day of their time and energy, covered by CitySprint.
Getting behind a good cause
Our teams are passionate about supporting local causes. Here's just a handful of ways we show we care.
Helping the Dogs Trust to make a difference
In 2022, we supported the Dogs Trust with an auction of bespoke Snoopy statues to raise funds for the animal welfare charity.
Donations to local foodbanks
Our teams are committed to making a difference in each community we operate in through donating food items to those who need it most.
Celebrating inclusion
Diversity & inclusion should be celebrated every day of the year. We support the MindOut campaign, donating £1,000 to promote a fairer society for all.
Leeds Children's Charity at Lineham Farm
Since 2021, we have proudly been a Business Partner to the charity, offering an annual donation and organising fundraising activities for colleagues to get involved in.
