Our amazing Quarter 2 Heroes are here…

12 September 2023

After 70+ nominations for over 50 colleagues and teams, the panel has come to a decision and chosen our deserving Q2 Heroes!

Like with our courier champions awards, every quarter we also encourage our employees to nominate the colleagues they felt were worthy winners of our renowned ‘CitySprint Hero’ awards. At CitySprint, we believe that company values drive an organisation's business operation, as well as show their beliefs, morals and ethics. That’s why when we see reliability, accountability, ambition and empathy shown by our colleagues, we love to reward it.

Jessica Rodriquens, who won our ‘Accountability Hero’ award,

Jess was nominated by multiple people for going above and beyond to deliver a fantastic service for her colleagues and customers. She has revolutionised the Courier Hub, transformed how we communicate with couriers and been there to provide excellent leadership and support to all those around her.

Ryan Garbutt, who won our ‘Reliability Hero’ award,

Ryan was nominated for being a CitySprint legend and a future senior leader in the making. Whether it’s through providing amazing support to his colleagues or through proactively wanting to be involved in any new projects. Ryan has grown so much in his role, all whilst delivering a great performance for our Leeds Service Centre.

Mukhtar Jama, who won our ‘Empathy Hero’ award,

Mukhtar was nominated for being a friendly face who’s always willing to lend a helping hand around our warehouse. Whether it’s helping to sort equipment ready for urgent events or sending out last minute packages to colleagues, having Mukthar to help is a huge relief and always makes our jobs more pleasant.

Taslima Akther, who won our ‘Ambition Hero’ award,

Taslima was nominated for providing important support when colleagues needed it, as well as developing detailed guides to help train the team on imports and special handling. Taslima has helped to take stress away from our colleagues all whilst showing such dedication to the department’s future success.

Olamide Makinde, who won our ‘All 4 Values Hero’ award,

Ola was nominated for completely redefining the reporting that is now available for the Customer Experience team. An absolute ‘Data Dominator’, her data analysis has supported us in making performance improvements across the board, providing insight and spotting trends that we wouldn’t have otherwise seen.

Heathrow and Guildford Service Centre, who won our ‘Team Heroes’ award,

The team was nominated for being a credit to CitySprint after seamlessly introducing six members of Absolutely couriers into the site. The Absolutely team were very grateful in how we have welcomed them and two of their biggest customers into the CitySprint family, all with the great help of the Heathrow and Guildford Service Centre.

We’d like to offer a huge and well-deserved congratulations to all of this quarter’s heroes. We’d also like to give a special mention to all the other nominees for being recognised by their colleagues as heroes. Keep doing what you’re doing and spreading the CitySprint values.
