Our new mascot Sprinter, his national travels, and his unwavering Make-A-Wish UK support
30 January 2025CitySprint has recently acquired a, quite adorable, mascot that has been making the most of our national coverage and visiting our sites from Southampton to Scotland and a lot of places in between!
After ensuring his packing was appropriate come sun, rain, snow, ice or sleet, Sprinter the Bear left his home of Leeds and began his adventures.
From the start, the travelling bear was ready to fit in as many service centres as possible in his travels – and where better to start than the wonderful city of Sheffield! Rich, the service centre manager, and the team were very happy to introduce Sprinter to all that goes on in the world of CitySprint, as Rich confirmed,
“Sprinter has been most helpful in the office, first order of business making the tea…thank you Sprinter!”
Sprinter and Theo, the national the mascot of Sheffield Childrens Hospital.
After a fun trip to Sheffield, Sprinter’s next stop was to go out and see our CitySprint colleagues at Manchester, play around with the equipment and visit the local Christmas markets. The cheeky bear even had a (supervised) visit on one of our forklifts. Not to worry, health and safety procedures were followed to a T!
Our favourite little fluffy bear couldn’t make the trip to Manchester without spending some time with our friends at EcoSpeed. After a packed day with the CitySprint Manchester team, Sprinter’s next journey was just across the office! See Sprinter below kicking some butt at foosball.
In Letchworth, Sprinter befriended Bellingo, the service centre’s very own mascot.
In London, while fascinated by our London South service centre, the mischievous bear was more interested in the tourist sites – such as everyone’s favourite bridge (Tower Bridge, not London Bridge as it’s usually mistaken for)!
In Redhill, where our finance and IT teams reside, Sprinter’s visit coincided (perfectly) with the team’s fundraiser day for Make-A-Wish UK. The day consisted of static bike riding and a Bake-A-Wish Day!
Sprinter then took the trip around the M25 and then along the M4 to find his way to our Bristol service centre.
The adventurous bear also visited our Southampton service centre whilst down south, then made his way all the way to Scotland. Sprinter firstly travelled to our northern most service centre (Aberdeen), which is actually closer to Norway than Birmingham! Then he travelled down to our Edinburgh site, with one final stop at our Glasgow service centre. He, of course, couldn’t complete a trip to Scotland without sampling the local delicacies.
After visiting 11 sites and teams over a period of six weeks, Sprinter the Bear is now finally back home at our Leeds service centre.
