Demand for home deliveries
Edwards and Hope has been supplying electrical goods in Brighton since 1935. The family currently running the business has been doing so for more than 50 years. Providing everything from lightbulbs and cables to ceiling roses and plenty more, they have deep roots and loyal customers.
Recently, like so many companies, Edwards and Hope has seen the demand for home deliveries grow, and the events of 2020 inevitably increased and accelerated this demand further. To ensure the best possible service for consumers, they turned to CitySprint, who have the depth of experience, knowledge, coverage and resources to help meet the logistical challenges involved.
Winning on cost and sheer flexibility
The CitySprint solution was the most cost-effective service when compared with their competitors and has allowed Edwards and Hope to offer a range of options to meet their UK customers’ needs, from next day delivery to 3-5 days when shipping overseas.
Being so close to the Brighton service centre is convenient for sending out shipments quickly. When the firm is short of staff, bookings are scheduled over the phone to arrange the delivery of electrical products. The Brighton service centre also collects parcels directly from the store, saving time efficiently.
Safe, secure and international
To save precious time and keep within budget, communication at a local level was key to our success. Daily operational calls ensured that we were always on track and customised reports allowed us to meet collection, delivery, returns and cost targets.
